We love to discover new roads and great new places to ride, and we want to inspire you to do so as well. Therefore, we organise local rides and unique cycling events to keep your riding fresh. When you join one of our rides, it's also a great way to meet other cyclists in your region, who share the same passion and active lifestyle as you. Many friendships have been forged within our community. There really is nothing better than the anticipation of riding a great new route with friends!
Join us every first Saturday of the month on our Social Saturday Ride, when we take you for a spin in our region. Every ride ends at our café around noon. Here you can hang out with your fellow riders afterwards. We meet up at the café and leave sharp at 9:30 AM.
- 28KM/h Average, riding a large part at of the ride at 30-32KM/h
- No-drop ride (this means we stop for pee-breaks & flats).
- Total distance of around 60-70 KM, depending on the route of the ride.
For people visiting us from far & nearby, we selected a number of exciting rides around Mechelen. Don't forget to jump in for coffee before and/or after! Here's a selection varying in difficulty and length:
1. A taste of 'Brabantse Pijl' - 88k
Start this ride in Leest, about 5k from our PdP flagship store. It will take you to the South of Brussels for some proper (short) steep climbs and amazing views. Taste the local grapes on your midway-point!
2. Mechelen - Antwerp - Mechelen
On this ride, you can combine two mini city visits/stops (Lier & Antwerp) with cruising next to the beautiful canals with loads of green, birds and deers (if you're lucky). No real climbing so you decide how intense this ride will be!
3. Mechelen - Leuven - Mechelen
Head over to the world's beer capital, Leuven! Cruise next to the canal, pretty straight with little turns. Flat until just before Leuven where you'll find some short but steep climbing. Check-out our friends from coffee bar 'Noir' while you're there or grab a Stella on on the 'Oude Markt'.
4. Mechelen - Temse - Mechelen
Get ready for some river cruising where we follow the river 'Rupel' all the way until we get to 'De Schelde' in beautiful Temse. Take a a look at how they transformed an old shipyard (Boelwerf) into a new hotspot. Continue to pittoresque Sint Amands after which you say goodbye to the De Schelde and head back to Mechelen passing the famous 'Duvel' brewery. Flat all the way so you decide how challenging this ride will be!
The first edition of the Dusty Moon Gravel Ride will take place on Saturday, June 12th 2021.
The Dusty Moon Gravel Ride originated out of the personal quest of our team. They set out to map the best un-paved sections in our region, a region that is mostly build-up, and not particularly known for its off-road adventures. Needless to say, it was a challenge mapping all these hidden gems, but the result was worth sharing with all other gravel grinders!
Since the historical nickname of inhabitants from Mechelen is Maneblussers (Moon Extinguishers), the event name had to refer to 'moon'. And the dust? Well that explains itself right?
